brag '0 bit

If you love Pizza Hut like I do, you'll LOVE their Big Box deal! There are several options to choose from. Scott and I got the pepperoni pizza/bread sticks/cinnamon sticks box. It was SO YUMMY!! And the BEST part?? It's $10! Yes, you heard me right - TEN DOLLARS!! Are you kidding me?? It is such a deal. We didn't eat all of it, so technically it's two meals for that amount of money. And I didn't have to cook!
My next brag meal? The $5 foot long sub from Subway! ANY foot long sub for only $5! Again, I say, are you kidding me?!

I have had three different meals in my cupboards/fridge to cook for the past two nights. Last night I had class and tonight JP is sick. So, needless to say, cooking was out of the question for me. I am so thankful for Subway and Pizza Hut for these wonderful deals! If you haven't already taken advantage of them, it is well worth the (small amount of) money!
(And no, these restaurants are not paying me to endorse their food!)

thank goodness for president's day

(Can you tell by his expression how cold it was next to the water??)

late night snack

Speaking of snacks, Scott and I are on a mission to lose weight. I am writing about this in the hopes that it will serve as a form of accountability on my part! I've actually done pretty well so far with the eating part of it. Exercising? Not so much. I'll get there though. Believe it or not, I used to be pretty skinny. Before, what I like to refer to as the GREAT DEPRESSION (JP's adoption), I enjoyed running/biking and lifting small weights. My goal is to get to that point again. It will take lots of prayer and discipline, that's for sure.
I packed up all of my "skinny clothes" and have them stored in the attic. Let's see how long it takes me to get back in them... I am hoping BEFORE summer????
We'll see. I'll post random updates from time to time. Now, I'm off to enjoy my President's Day vacation with my favorite Mayan Indian!

another pinterest recipe

CHICKEN ROLL
This one was SUPER simple! I tried it earlier this week. It was pretty good! I won't say that it was my all-time favorite, but it was DEFINITELY worth making... very cheap & very quick. Perfect for the working wife/mother.

Here's what you'll need:
- 2 cans of white chicken ( I bought Swanson )
- 2 sleeves of crescent rolls ( I used the store brand at Ingles)
- 1 packet of Ranch (powder) dressing
- 8 0z of cream cheese
- hot sauce ( no particular kind)
Here's what you do:
1) Roll out the crescent rolls and press them together into squares.
2) Layer them around your baking sheet into a circle.
3) Drain chicken, mix with cream cheese in a bowl.
4) Add 1/2 packet of Ranch sauce and hot sauce ( as much or as little as you want)
5) Spoon out chicken mix onto the crescent rolls and fold the corners over.
6) Bake at 350 until rolls are golden brown
I served this dish with fast food fries from the frozen section of the store. You can dip in sour cream or the sauce of your choice. Or, you can serve it plain. Depending on how many you're serving, it should feed you MORE than once!
ENJOY! :)

My job is CRAZY wild on most days, so it makes it SO MUCH BETTER when I work with these crazy gals! I LOVE them and we have the most fun together! A night on the town after a tiring Thursday makes it all worth it... (well, maybe!)

extra! extra! read all about it!

I hope to post pictures soon, but little baby Preston is beginning to walk!! It is the cutest thing ever. He gets so excited AT US getting so excited, so he tries to run. And then he falls! When he takes his time and lets go of the couch or chair, he is consistently taking four to five steps!

We are SO proud of him! I cannot believe he will be ONE YEAR OLD at the end of March....man, how time flies!

Stay tuned...
